We Recommend:

Your home should be evenly heated or cooled without uncomfortable hot or cold spots, but you also should be able to control the heating/cooling system’s operation so that unused rooms are not unnecessarily conditioned. Whether you prefer a single thermostat or several, find the perfect conditioning system for your home among these quality Carrier choices:

Variable Speed Infinity System

ComfortHeat Technology System

Infinity or Thermidistat Control, Infinity Zoning or Comfort Zone

Controlling Humidity

It is recommended that a healthy home environment have relative humidity levels of 40-60%. This humidity level best prevents growth of bacteria, viruses, mould, mildew and dust mites. We recommend the following Carrier humidifying products:

  • Variable Speed Infinity System

  • Humidifier

  • Infinity or Thermidistat Control, Infinity Zoning or Comfort Zone

No More Noise

Are you bothered by the noise your home heating/cooling system makes? Do you roll your eyes when you hear it turning on? We recommend a quieter home comfort system, such as:

  • Variable Speed Infinity™ System

  • Two-Speed Outdoor Unit

  • High-Efficiency Outdoor Unit

Puron® Refrigerant

When you purchase an air conditioner or heat pump from Carrier, you’ll be pleased to know that the appliance uses Puron refrigerant. In fact, since this chlorine-free refrigerant started appearing in Carrier products in 1996, users of these products have reported longer-lasting and more cost-effective conditioning of their air and quieter systems. Puron is environmentally sound and is replacing the former, popular, ozone-depleting Freon® 22.

Outdoor Components of Cooling

The outdoor part of your cooling system is either an air conditioner or a heat pump. The difference is this: heat pumps tend to work better for those in cooler climates. When choosing between systems that use these units, consider:

  • Efficiency Look for a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 13 to 21% for lower utility bills and environmental impact.

  • Refrigerant Puron® refrigerant is environmentally sound and keeps systems running longer. In fact, systems with Puron carry a failure rate of less than one half of 1%. Freon®-22 is being phased out for environmental reasons.

  • 2-Speed vs. Single-Speed High-speed systems cool your home faster, but lower-speed systems are more efficient and result in lower energy bills. Carrier’s 2-speed Infinity™ System air conditioners and heat pumps use low speed 80% of the time, also resulting in a quieter system.

  • Sound level Consider Silencer System technology, which you’ll find on the Carrier Infinity System and Performance™ Series models, for a less noisy cooling system far below the industry average.

*Bonus: Carrier outdoor components are shielded with WeatherArmor Ultra™ protection, keeping outdoor dangers such as hail, lawn mowers and rust from causing damage.

Indoor Components of Heating/Cooling

The indoor components of your home comfort system control both temperatures and humidity. These components can be an electric fan coil or a gas furnace, and you should consider:

  • Variable Speed Technology Found in Carrier’s Infinity™ System fan coil and gas furnace models, these systems are efficient and can boost cooling capacity. Combine this with the Infinity Control, Thermidistat™ Control, Infinity Zoning or Performance™ Series Comfort Zone™ to remove moisture effectively.

  • ComfortHeat™ Technology This system offers longer, quieter heating cycles in the winter and better humidity removal during the summer and must be controlled by a Carrier Infinity or Thermidistat Control for top performance. This technology includes either a Carrier heat pump or air conditioner, along with a variable speed fan coil or variable speed furnace.

  • Gas Furnace Efficiency People in colder climates need more efficient furnaces for obvious reasons. Look for a high Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating to find the most energy-efficient choices – like the Carrier Infinity Series furnaces, with ComfortHeat technology and variable speed technology.
